The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues program is professionally curated directly from the NBA and WNBA, giving youth athletes the very best foundation to improve their game, discover the importance of sportsmanship, and participate in organized team play.

To put it simply: we’re the home for youth basketball, where every kid can develop their skills on and off the court.

How do I start a Jr. NBA/JR. WNBA Leagues program?

If you’re interested in starting a Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues program in your community, simply reach out to us at info@jrnbaleagues.com and a member of our team will provide you with all the necessary information.

Are there requirements for league organizers?

All Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues are run by pre-approved league operators who have undergone a background screening and SafeSport certification, and have acknowledged required protocols.

Are there regional or national competitions?

Currently, Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues competitions are local. We’re continuing to evaluate ways to expand and conduct regional and national competitions.

What is the NBA and WNBA’s involvement in the Jr. NBA/JR. WNBA?

The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues program is the official recreational youth basketball league of the NBA and WNBA. We use our core values—teamwork, respect, determination and community—to teach fundamental skills. Even more, all participants receive exclusive officially licensed Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA jerseys with NBA or WNBA team logos.

Who can play Jr. NBA/JR. WNBA Leagues?

We offer leagues for boys and girls ages 6 to 14 years old.

Can girls play Jr. NBA/JR. WNBA Leagues?

Absolutely! Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues are open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14 years old. We believe in creating a program that allows all youth athletes to foster their love for the game, no matter their gender or ability.

How many players are on a team?

Teams will be required to have rosters with a minimum of eight (8) players and a maximum of 10 players.

Will I receive a jersey?

Yes, all players receive officially licensed NBA or WNBA team branded reversible jerseys.

How much previous basketball experience is required to participate?

None! Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues has a team where you can learn how to play and have fun. We’re focused on improving the youth basketball experience for everyone, ensuring the game is played fairly and safely.

How much does it cost to play?

Pricing varies based on your location. However, all registration fees include the following:

  • Officially licensed NBA or WNBA team branded reversible jersey
  • Exclusive access to additional Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA branded merchandise and fan wear
  • Access to instructional resources for players, coaches, and referee development

Where are Jr. NBA/JR. WNBA Leagues located?

Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues are launching in the following cities in late fall 2022:

What are the season dates?

Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues will launch in select cities in November 2022, and season lengths and start dates will vary by city. You can find more information on your league’s start date by visiting their registration page.

Can I become a Jr. NBA coach?

Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues coaching is open to both volunteers and experienced coaches in the youth basketball community. You can find more information on becoming a Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Leagues coach by visiting your league’s registration page. All coaches and league operators must go through background screenings, SafeSport certification, and acknowledgment of required protocols.
